Fulbright 2027–2028 competition now open
The Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Programs are accepting applications for the 2027–2028 cycle. The national deadline is October 6, 2026 — campus deadlines for those applying through an institution are typically 4–6 weeks earlier, so check with your Fulbright Program Adviser. Awards cover tuition, a living stipend, health insurance, and airfare for study, research, or teaching abroad. Open to U.S. citizens currently enrolled in or holding a bachelor's degree.
Commonwealth Scholarships — 2026–27 intake open
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission is accepting Master's and PhD applications for study in the UK starting September 2026. Applications close 16:00 (UK time) on Tuesday, October 14, 2026. Fully funded: tuition, a living allowance (around £1,347/month), and return airfare. Open to citizens of eligible Commonwealth countries holding at least an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree who couldn't otherwise afford to study in the UK.
DAAD Research Grants — doctoral funding in Germany
DAAD's Research Grants for doctoral candidates (individual PhD or structured doctoral programmes at a German university) are open, with an application deadline of October 30, 2026 for funding starting mid-2027. Provides a monthly stipend of around €1,400 plus a research allowance, insurance, and travel costs. Best suited to candidates whose doctorate started within the last 3 years.
